Role: Compensation and Benefits (C&B) Manager

What is the position?:
As our Compensation & Benefits (C&B) Manager for Europe based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, you’ll strategically and tactically manage all remuneration schemes across our European organization. Your responsibilities will span a diverse range of areas, including
salaries, benefits, bonuses, incentives, and rewards.
The role will also oversee talent management strategy, coordinate performance management, and support HRBP in succession planning. You will be based in Amsterdam as part of the European HR team and report to the Group Head of HR Europe.

What are the responsibilities?

1) Compensations and Benefits
• Develop and implement compensation strategies that are appropriate for the business needs, but consistent with the organization’s overall reward strategy
• Work closely with all the different stakeholders for new collective labor agreements
• Execute the yearly reward cycle and ensure all packages and benefits are legal and administered efficiently and accurately e.g. bonus payments / pay reviews/salary increments etc.
• Proactive alignment with other C&B colleagues, HR teams, and salary administrations across – to ensure consistent advice and support is being delivered. For example questions on 30% rule, expat assignments, tax equalization, etc.
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop work plans, manage stakeholders, and ensure that the organization’s reward strategy is implemented effectively and within established budgets and that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and employment standards.
• Consistently explore benchmarks and recommend relevant changes and benefits for an engaged workforce…

2) Organizational design and Manpower budgeting
• Structure and coordinate job evaluation and classification
• Analyse and evaluate external and internal data about the organization’s current and future human resource needs to develop salary budgets and forecasts, that are consistent with the organization’s reward strategy
• Manpower planning, forecasting, and monitoring people-related costs in cooperation with HR, senior leaders, and finance teams
• Maintain a library of up-to-date HR policies, establish new policies, and communicate these to the organization
• Work closely with all three work councils in the Netherlands on common topics

3) International Mobility
• Design, develop, and manage expatriate compensation in the Europe region aligned with the global international mobility policies.

4) Talent Management
• Coordinate with HRBP to drive the HR talent management cycle, including Mid-year review, End Year Review, and Talent Review (APEX) to strengthen our talent management and succession journey.

Do you have what it takes? (requirements)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Law, HR or similar
• 9+ years of relevant experience in the C&B area or similar, in international companies with a diverse cultural and manufacturing background.
• Strong experience with Job grading methodologies like Orba, Hay, or Mercer
• Advanced knowledge of international tax law, Pensions, and rewards management principles and practices
• Good ability to analyze and interpret rewards issues within the broader human resources context and to provide integrated solutions linking to talent management, development, and retention.
• Experience in payroll or PDL certification is a plus
• Experience with SAP is a plus
• Fluent in Dutch & English
